[Technical Column] Issue 13: Air Conditioning Systems and Challenges of Electric Vehicles

Insufficient heating source! This problem will become more pronounced when fully switching to electric vehicles!

In this column, we will discuss the air conditioning methods and challenges of electric vehicles. As shown in the diagram of the refrigeration cycle, the air that exchanges heat with the refrigerant in the evaporator becomes cold air, which is used for air conditioning in the summer. However, to achieve the preferred temperature for the occupants, it is necessary to mix this with warm air generated by the heater core. The hot water entering the heater core is the cooling water from the radiator. In recent years, the popularity of hybrid vehicles has led to a shortage of this heating source. This is due to the reduced heat generation from the engine, as it operates intermittently. Especially in winter, the lack of heating has led to practical methods of supplementation, such as using electric heaters (PTC heaters). When fully transitioning to electric vehicles, this issue will become even more pronounced. *For more detailed information about the column, please refer to the related links. [Example] Implementation case of ductless air conditioning technology

Introducing a constant temperature and humidity control system in a large space, with examples of practical implementation in a precision metal machinery factory!

We would like to introduce an implementation example of the constant temperature air conditioning system "Ductless Air Conditioning Technology" in a large space, precision metal machining factory. Due to the installation of a hoist crane in the upper part of the building, there is no duct space above the process area, which is a constraint. As an improvement system, we used an induction fan to draw and diffuse the blown air, achieving uniform constant temperature conditions (±2°C) and energy savings in the large space. As a result of continuous temperature measurements conducted over three days at FL+1000, +450, and +8000, we satisfied the design condition of ±2°C at all levels. 【Required Specifications】 ■ Air Conditioning Conditions: Summer 26±2°C / Winter 18-2°C (Air Conditioning Guarantee Height: 4m for one building / 8m for two buildings) ■ Constraints: As it is a machining factory with a hoist crane installed in the upper part of the building, there is no duct space above the process area (only above the hoist). ■ Notes: The arrangement of the induction SF fans should allow for uniform indoor temperature and avoid interference with the hoist. ■ Total Floor Area: 9,500m² ■ Building Height: 12.5m for one building / 18m for two buildings *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Radiant Far Infrared Heating and Cooling - Sheer

No wind, no sound, no temperature variations! An air conditioning system that provides a comfortable indoor space without causing stress.

The radiant far-infrared heating and cooling system is a system that circulates "hot and cold water" through radiant aluminum panels, heating and cooling the panels to provide "far-infrared heating and cooling," "radiation," and "heat absorption," thereby distributing heat throughout the room or removing it. During heating, hot water is circulated through the radiant aluminum panels, directly transmitting far-infrared rays to the surrounding floors, walls, and ceilings. This eliminates temperature disparities without wind, creating a comfortable space with natural warmth. During cooling, cold water is circulated through the radiant aluminum panels, allowing the panels to absorb heat from the surrounding floors, walls, and ceilings. Similarly, this eliminates temperature disparities without wind, creating a refreshing and comfortable space with a natural, cool feeling, akin to a forest bath. 【Features】 ■ Silent, windless operation with no temperature disparities due to far-infrared radiation ■ Windless environment with no dispersion of house dust or allergenic particles ■ Radiation from the equipment = far-infrared rays resonate with the far-infrared coating on ceilings, walls, and windows, further enhancing heating and cooling effects, achieving over 50% energy savings *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Solve the environmental impact and electricity cost issues of air conditioning equipment! Ground source heat energy-saving air conditioning system.

Reduce annual electricity costs by over 20%. It is also possible to reduce annual CO2 emissions by over 20%. A geothermal energy utilization system that solves energy-related issues of facilities all at once.

At depths greater than 10 meters underground, temperatures remain stable year-round, unaffected by atmospheric temperature changes. In particular, the range from 10 to 200 meters underground is insulated from the effects of air temperature and magma temperature, maintaining temperatures equivalent to the annual average temperature above ground. Utilizing this temperature range for thermal energy exchange with the surface is referred to as geothermal energy utilization. Geothermal energy is gaining attention as a renewable energy source that is locally sourced and consumed, existing right beneath our feet. Since it does not rely on fossil fuels, its utilization can lead to a reduction in CO2 emissions. Additionally, because it does not release heat into the atmosphere, it helps mitigate the heat island effect. This contributes to reduced running costs and enhanced business value. **Features** - Performance is 4 to 5 times greater compared to conventional geothermal methods. - Both "water resources" and "thermal energy" can be extracted from a single heat source well. - By integrating with our products, it provides solutions not only for reducing environmental impact but also for enhancing business value. The unique technology of Innovex, known as 'Heat Cluster(R)', involves the introduction of heat exchange pipes within the well, utilizing indirect heat exchange between the water inside the well, which has superior heat transfer performance compared to soil, and the heat exchange pipes.
